The appearance of the new Kia Seltos crossover did not immediately attract many potential buyers. But one more news for motorists in Russia was that approval for a new model of a parquet crossover of local assembly was introduced into the Rosstandart base. The first country where sales of Kia Seltos started was the homeland (Korea), then the novelty appeared in India, South Africa and Australia. As expected, the assembly of the novelty will be established in Russia, and the place of assembly will be Ellada Intertrade (a subsidiary of the Kaliningrad Avtotor). If we talk about the parameters of the new Kia Seltos, then it will be a copy of the Korean version. At the same time, the Indian version of Seltos turned out to be more compact.

For comparison, the most popular crossover in Russia, the Hyundai Creta, is 4270 mm long, 1780 mm wide and 1630 mm high. The wheelbase of the Creta is 2590 mm. According to the documents submitted to Rosstandart, the new Kia Seltos will enter the Russian market with three gasoline engines. The first two atmospheric G4FG-5, with a volume of 1.6 liters and G4NH-5, with a volume of 2.0 liters. The turbocharged 4-cylinder unit G4FJ-5 will receive a volume of 1.6 liters, with direct injection. Depending on the engine chosen, the rest of the characteristics of the Kia Seltos crossover will change. The atmospheric engine can be paired with all-wheel or front-wheel drive, as for the turbocharged unit, it will be available only with all-wheel drive. The suspension changes accordingly, the front-wheel drive configurations on the rear axle will receive a beam, but the all-wheel drive Kia Seltos will acquire a multi-link suspension. If we talk about the power of the units, then for a front-wheel drive configuration, the 1.6-liter engine will give 123 horses, and with a 4x4 drive, the power will be 121 hp. The two-liter Kia Seltos unit will produce 149 hp, and the turbocharged 1.6 - 177 hp.
Now about the transmission, according to the manufacturer, paired with an atmospheric 1.6 there will be 6 mechanics or an automatic transmission. The turbocharged unit will be paired with a 7-speed robot and dual clutch. There remains an atmospheric unit with a volume of 2.0 liters, a variator will be paired with it. Another nuance is that all Kia Seltos engines in Russia will initially be able to run on AI-92 gasoline.
As for the filling of the interior of Kia Seltos for Russia, the manufacturer does not disclose any information. From the documents of the OTTS it is known about the presence of climate control and the ERA-Glonass system. Considering that the Russian version reminds many of the already sold Korean crossover, we can talk about the presence of a 10.25 ″ touchscreen multimedia display, made in the form of a tablet.
The list also includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, frontal collision avoidance system, parking assist and parking exit, as well as a system for selecting travel modes.
Now about the price of Kia Seltos for Russia. Officially, prices and configurations for Russia have not yet been announced, and the premiere will take place in January 2020. According to experts, the new Kia Seltos will be more expensive than the popular Hyundai Creta. Most likely, the basic configuration of the Kia crossover will be in the range from 957,000 to 1.4 million rubles. It is worth noting that the plant in Kaliningrad has already begun assembling the Kia Seltos 2020 parquet crossover.
