The current trend is that every respected and popular automaker should have at least one crossover model in its arsenal. Not so long ago, the Lamborghini Urus was presented, now among the sports, charged crossovers there will be a new Ferrari Purosangue, which is very likely to become competitors of the same Urus. The official premiere of the novelty is scheduled for 2022, but it is possible that the presentation may be earlier.

For the first time that Ferrari will release a crossover, information appeared in the fall of 2018. Now, a year later, new information has appeared about the Purosangue sports crossover. According to the manufacturer, the new crossover will differ significantly from its competitors: Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga. The new Ferrari Purosangue will be one of 15 new models that the manufacturer plans to introduce by 2023. Newer models use new bogies, the first with a mid-engined engine, such as the F8 Tributo, and the second GT bogie designed for front- or mid-engined. It is on the GT platform that the new sports crossover Ferrari Purosangue will be built. This allows V6, V8 and V12 units to be installed under the hood. You can also install a hybrid installation based on the same units with a robotic transmission and dual clutch. In this case, the drive can be front or full. Thanks to such developments, the manufacturer will be able to install different bodies on these platforms and combine them depending on the wishes of the buyer.

It is assumed that the length of the new crossover Ferrari Purosangue will be about 5 meters. The salon of the novelty will be designed for 4 seats. Under the hood will be a hybrid setup taken from the Ferrari SF90 Stradale coupe, which was previously unveiled in May. It is based on a 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo petrol engine with a capacity of 780 horses and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. Three electric motors operate in a pair.

The first one is installed between the gasoline engine and the gearbox, two more engines are installed on the front wheels. The two front engines received an independent control system, thanks to which the Ferrari Purosangue crossover will receive a vector thrust change system. Thus, the total power of the electric motors is 220 horses, and the total power of the crossover is about 1000 hp.

Paired with the unit is an 8-speed robot with two clutches and all-wheel drive. It is interesting that there is no reverse gear in such a transmission, its role is performed by a reverse based on electrical units on the front axle. At this point, the combustion engine is shut off. A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 7.9 kW * h is used to power the generating sets.

Average electric range of 25 km with a maximum speed of 135 km / h. According to various rumors, the hybrid installation for the Ferrari Purosangue may be replaced with a turbocharged V6. It is possible that there may be a charged configuration with a V12 engine.
