Chinese auto manufacturer Geely has unveiled a prototype of a new flagship crossover, called the KX11. While this name is used for the prototype, although at home, in China, the car received the official name Xingyue L, which immediately gives it a 7-seater interior. The basis for the novelty was the Volvo CMA platform, which was also used for the Geely Tugella and Preface.
The official premiere of the new Geely KX11 is expected in Shanghai at the 2021 auto show. It is after this presentation that the car is promised to be exhibited in dealerships in China, revealing a full list of characteristics and configurations. According to company representatives, this model will also be available in Russia and neighboring countries. Most likely, the new Geely KX11 will enter the European market and the Russian market in 2022. It is the 8-9 months difference that makes the appearance of the car in China and the Russian Federation.
During this period, the manufacturer will finalize the Geely KX11 to European standards and receive a full package of necessary documents to start sales in the Russian Federation and Europe. As already mentioned, the new crossover will be the largest SUV in the company's lineup built on the CMA platform and is designed for 7 seats.

With such dimensions and roomy interior, the new Geely KX11 will compete with the new Kia Sorento and Hyundai SantaFe. Most likely, there will be competition not only in terms of equipment, modern functions or other characteristics, but also in pricing. Still, no one has canceled the SUV model in the Gili lineup, the same Tugella is still in demand and will most likely be cheaper than the new KX11. That is why it is still difficult to say how quickly the popularity of the new Geely KX11 will grow in comparison with other crossovers of the brand.
Under the hood, the new Geely KX11 will be able to offer two turbocharged engines with a volume of 2.0 liters. Depending on the modification of the unit, the power will be 218 or 238 horses. Most of the crossover trim levels will be front-wheel drive, but in the top-end version they promise to install all-wheel drive. As for the interior of the Geely KX11, the manufacturer has not yet revealed a lot of information. There are two options for the layout of the cabin, for 5 or 7 seats. What will be the landing formula for the 7-seater version has not yet been disclosed.
Most of all, the front panel of the Geely KX11 should surprise. The dashboard will be completely digital, but much more interesting is the huge display of the multimedia system, which is stretched from the center and to the entire right side of the panel. In fact, this is only a visual effect, in reality, two separate 12.3 ″ displays are hidden under the solid glass. The first screen plays the role of a multimedia system and controls all the functions assigned to it. The second display is intended exclusively for the front passenger.
The number of mechanical buttons in the Geely KX11 cabin is minimized. In particular, a small panel in the center of the panel, several control buttons on the central tunnel.
