  • 2018 Lotus Evora GT430 RS cost and configuration

The lineup of the British automobile brand Lotus is represented not only by 2-seater racing roadsters, but also by full-fledged sports models suitable for everyday use. One of these models is the Lotus Evora, which, despite having four seats, has managed to maintain the sporty and unshakable spirit of Lotus.

The car is distinguished by powerful power units and perfected handling, which has long become the company's hallmark.

In 2017, the company's management presented a new modification of the Lotus Evora to the world community, named GT430 and becoming the most powerful car in the history of the automaker, suitable for driving on public roads. Compared to the previous version GT410, the sports car received a more aggressive and aerodynamic appearance, a slightly improved interior and a more powerful engine.

Exterior Lotus Evora GT430 2018

The appearance of the new Lotus Evora GT430 is made in the style of the rest of the company's models, which annually collect a lot of flattering reviews from the best designers and car critics.

So, front part of the body has a lot in common with the Lotus Elise model - in particular, it concerns the layout of the hood and front bumper with a huge air intake slot. But the head optics has a sharper shape, which gives the car a more aggressive and sporty look.

In comparison with the GT410, the novelty received an updated front bumper, which received a more complex shape and acquired three large air intake slots and a sports splitter.

Lotus Evora hoodAs before, it pleases the eye with stylish stampings and aerodynamic elements designed to improve streamlining and reduce aerodynamic drag.

Evora's profile fully corresponds to the concept of a supercar - large wheel arches, a long hood, a sloping roofline that smoothly turns into a lean stern, as well as spectacular stampings on the sidewalls.

Sports car feed is made in a futuristic style and attracts the eye with a pair of round side lights, a mass of aerodynamic elements, a muscular bumper, a sports diffuser, and an enlarged wing.

Special attention should be paid to additional holes along the edges of the bumper, the task of which is to remove air from the wheel arches and increase the downforce of the car, as well as the “GT410” nameplates scattered on the body, which do not allow confusing the model with “junior” versions. By the way, thanks to this arrangement, at a speed of 145 km / h, the downforce is 64 kg, and at the maximum - over 250 kg.

External dimensions of the novelty:

  • Length - 4.342 m;
  • Width - 1.848 m;
  • Height - 1.223 m;
  • Distance between axles reaches 2,575 m.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer decided not to voice the ride height, however, according to rumors, it varies between 130-140 mm.

The choice of potential buyers will be offered several options for painting the body, however, as it seems to us, the car looks best in black.

Interior of Lotus Evora 2018

The interior design captivates with its laconic but attractive style and thoughtfulness. In front of the driver, the manufacturer placed a plump three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, cut from the bottom and covered with natural leather or Alcantara (optional), as well as an unusual instrument cluster, represented by a pair of small displays and two analog dials (speedometer and tachometer).

In the central part of the dashboard, minimalism and harmony reign, and its main elements are round air duct deflectors and a minimalist block of mechanical buttons, under which the display of the multimedia center can optionally be located.

Front sports seats Demonstrate powerful lateral support and provide a comfortable fit even for tall riders, while they can be covered with natural leather or Alcantara.

A massive central tunnel runs between the front seats, on which the manufacturer installed a classic parking brake handle, a manual transmission lever and a pair of switches responsible for the auxiliary functions of the car.

Unlike its predecessor, the Lotus Evora GT430 is equipped not with a four-seater (2 + 2 layout), but with a two-seater saloon.

The rear sofa, which could only accommodate children, was removed in order to reduce the overall weight of the car.

Despite its compactness, the car received a small luggage compartment, the exact parameters of which the manufacturer decided not to disclose, but given the preserved dimensions of the car, it can be assumed that the luggage compartment volume corresponds to the previous version of the GT410 and is equal to 160 liters.

The quality of the materials used is at a very high level, as well as the build quality, which raises absolutely no questions. At the request of a potential buyer, Lotus can equip the Evora GT430 with four-point seat belts, a capacitive infotainment system with Bluetooth support, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, as well as satellite navigation and a rear view camera.

Specifications Lotus Evora GT430 2018

Under the hood of the new Lotus Evora GT430 is an improved 3.5-liter V6 that generates 20 hp. more power than the predecessor Evora GT410. As a result, the power of the car reached 430 "horses", and the maximum torque increased to 440 Nm.

The engine is coupled with an uncontested 6-speed "manual" gearbox with a new flywheel and an air-liquid cooling system, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 in an impressive 3.7 seconds. According to the passport data, the maximum speed that a 1258 kg sports car can reach is 305 km / h, which is quite consistent with the dynamics of full-fledged supercars. But the manufacturer decided not to announce such a parameter as fuel consumption, but it is unlikely that it significantly exceeds the indicator of the previous generation, which consumed about 3.5 l / 100 km in the combined cycle.

The car was equipped with a significantly modified chassis, and also equipped with Ohlins TTX shock absorbers, which received special settings for compression and rebound, and lightweight Eibach springs. The manufacturer emphasizes that when creating the body, they widely used carbon elements, as well as ultra-light and durable grades of steel, which, together with lightweight suspension parts and a new titanium exhaust system, made it possible to reduce the total weight of the car by 26 kg.

Deserves special attention upgraded stabilization system, which got the opportunity to choose between 3 work settings - Drive, Sport and Race (while the driver was left with the possibility of its complete deactivation), as well as 6-mode traction control, which allows you to set the degree of wheel slip of the rear axle within 1-12%.

The steering is supplemented by a hydraulic booster, and for a more accurate transmission of torque, the car is equipped with an electronic differential lock, developed by representatives of Bosch. The front and rear axles are equipped with 4-piston AP Racing monobloc calipers, and the brake disc diameters are 370 and 350 mm for the front and rear wheels respectively, which guarantees extremely precise and efficient deceleration.
