In 2017, the British brand McLaren showed the first sketches of its new racing car - the McLaren 720S GT3, built on the basis of the "standard" version of the 720S.

According to available information, the company intends to spend the entire 2018 on the preparation and refinement of the car, the test versions of which have already begun to wind kilometers on the test sites of the auto concern. And although the manufacturer himself is reluctant to share information about the technical characteristics of his future novelty, some information could still leak into the media and become public.

Exterior and interior of the new McLaren

Even a cursory glance at the McLaren 720S GT3 is enough to understand that this is a purebred racing car designed to burn tires and terrify rivals on the race track. Compared to the regular McLaren 720S, the GT version received a special racing body kit and a lot of aerodynamic elements designed to improve the car's behavior on the track.

Frontal part of the body represented by a sports bumper with a built-in splitter and a huge air intake mouth, as well as large drop-shaped sections in which LED head optics, LED DRL strips and auxiliary air intakes are installed, designed to ensure maximum air flow into the cooling radiator.

Car profile represented by a domed roof, heavily heaped up front pillars, as well as widened slots of the wheel arches, in which large "rollers" are installed, shod in special racing slicks.

720S GT3 feed received a textured bumper with a mass of aerodynamic elements, stylish parking lights, a pair of "trunks" of the exhaust system and a huge wing, which increases downforce and improves handling when passing high-speed corners.

In order to reduce the overall weight, the McLaren 720S GT3 interior has been deprived of all luxury elements, including power windows, which have been replaced with small “vents”.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not provide photos of the interior design, but we can assume that it does not differ much from the design of the "regular" 720S.

Model Specifications

At the moment, the network does not have any information about the technical characteristics of the new item. It is only known that the engineers tried to lighten the total weight of the car as much as possible so that it could fit into the strict criteria of the racing technical regulations.

Recall that the standard McLaren 720S is equipped with a 4-liter gasoline "eight", generating 720 "horses" and an impressive 770 Nm of thrust, which allows acceleration from 0 to 100 in 2.8 seconds. and achieve a maximum speed of 341 km / h. It is also worth noting that the car accelerates to 200 km / h in 7.8 seconds, and to 300 km / h in 21.4 seconds. Unfortunately, there is no information about fuel consumption.

At the heart of the regular 720S is a carbon monocoque, complete with a carbon fiber chassis and aluminum body panels, which is likely to be found on the McLaren 720S GT3 as well.

In addition, the GT Coupé is expected to be equipped with electro-hydraulic power steering, carbon ceramic brakes, an adaptive damping system and advanced electronics management.

Package Contents and Price 720S GT3
