In May 2019, the management of the Czech carmaker Skoda, which is part of the VW Group, presented to the world the next generation of the flagship sedan and station wagon - the Skoda Superb.
Moreover, the company presented a special version of the Skoda Superb Scout - an all-terrain wagon. And since this model received the largest number of flattering reviews among auto journalists and car enthusiasts who saw it, we suggest dwelling on it in more detail.

But before proceeding to the Skoda Superb Scout review, we would like to remind you once again that the “Scout” versions assume that the car has an increased ground clearance, as well as an extended set of systems designed to improve its cross-country ability. External appearance

The exterior of the all-terrain Skoda Superb Scout almost completely repeats that of a conventional Superb station wagon. The off-road capabilities of the car are evidenced by the presence of a plastic body kit along the entire perimeter of the body, a 4x4 nameplate on the trunk lid and a noticeably increased ground clearance compared to the civilian version.

The interior of the new Skoda Superb Scout, like the exterior, is practically no different from a conventional station wagon.

In the central part of the dashboard, there is an 8-inch capacitive display of the media information center, and right below it is the air conditioning control unit. Opposite the front rider, traditionally, there is a large glove compartment with a cooling function.

The quality of finishing and assembly is fully consistent with the concept of "flagship" and can compete with the representatives of more expensive and prestigious brands. Only in this modification, the salon can be decorated with special inserts imitating wood veneer, which adds prestige to the salon.

Ergonomics are above all praise - buttons, switches and levers are exactly where you expect them to be.

Front riders are offered quality seats with a large number of adjustments, combined trim and all kinds of benefits of civilization. Also, the manufacturer was not too lazy and marked the chairs with the inscription "Scout", located just below the headrests.

Between the seats there is a high central panel, on which an armrest and a niche for various small things are nestled, covered with a sliding curtain. The second row is represented by a spacious sofa that can easily take on board three adult riders.

Of the available benefits - a separate unit of air duct deflectors, a folding center armrest and a USB connector for recharging gadgets.

Trunk volume is 660 liters as standard, but with the second row of seats folded it can reach an impressive 1950 liters mark. Thanks to this, the machine turns into a small van that can easily transport bulky and long cargo.

Under the raised floor of the trunk, the manufacturer has provided a niche for a spare wheel and a set of tools, without which a car, claiming to be an SUV, simply cannot do.

Unlike the standard liftback and station wagon, the all-terrain version "Scout" is offered only with the top-end petrol and diesel engines:

1. 2-liter TDI diesel engine with a capacity of 190 hp. with. and 400 Nm of torque. With such an engine, acceleration from standstill to hundreds requires 8.1 seconds, the maximum speed reaches 223 km / h, and the combined consumption is declared at around 5 l / 100 km.
2. 2-liter TSI petrol engine, generating 280 "horses" and 350 Nm of peak torque. This is enough for the car to change the first hundred in 6.1 seconds, develop the maximum 250 km / h and consume about 7.7 liters for every 100 km of distance traveled.

The partner of the power plant, regardless of its type and power, is the 7-speed "robot" DSG, which provides faster gear shifting.

The off-road station wagon is based on the civilian Skoda Superb bogie, while the car is already equipped with a proprietary all-wheel drive transmission with a V-series all-wheel drive clutch.

On the front axle there is an independent MacPherson suspension with a lower wishbone and a torsion bar stabilizer, and a multi-link at the rear. Disc brakes are responsible for braking the car (front ones with an internal cooling system). The rack-and-pinion steering is complemented by an electric power steering with variable characteristics.

It is known that the official sales of the Skoda Superb Scout all-terrain station wagon in Europe will start before the end of 2019, but when the car will reach the Russian market and whether it will get there at all is still unknown. But even according to the most optimistic forecasts, if the manufacturer nevertheless decides to roll out the model to our market, it should not be expected until the summer of 2020.

The minimum price for Superb Scout in Germany starts at 46.15 thousand euros (about 3.27 million rubles). For this money, the buyer will receive:
